The Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) serves as the tour guide destination for local area attractions in Huntsville/Madison County. This welcome center and office space renovation was focused on refreshing the 20-year-old facility and providing additional office space to accommodate recent growth.

 

The design concept was centered around the idea of Huntsville’s giant leap from antebellum to anti-gravity. The client wanted to highlight the achievements of the city and its crucial role in space exploration while also honoring the rich history of the area and providing a warm welcome to every guest. Careful thought and consideration were given to integrating historical materials such as the existing reclaimed brick in the atrium, warm wood tones and an innovative juxtaposition of technology and light.

 

Addressing acoustic concerns, enhancing the lighting, and replacing finishes throughout now welcome visitors to a refreshed and timeless space that highlights area attractions, unique artifacts and upcoming events while featuring Huntsville’s renowned history and technological innovations.
